Rock Project Design
Permitted development - the process
The law allows you to build an extension to your home without being subjected to a full planning application. There are rules on how large this can be; 3 meters for a rear extension or 4 meters if your home is detached. A side extension can not be more than 50% of the width of your property. Although permitted development circumvents planning laws, any proposed extension will need to comply with building regulations.
